Innisfree, die Insel im See

Ich breche auf, ich geh nach Innisfree, der grünen.
Dort bau ich eine Hütte mir aus Lehm und Rohr.
Neun Reihen Bohnen pflanz ich, halt mir Bienen.
Ich leb für mich, rings nur der Bienen Chor.

Dort will ich Frieden finden, Frieden kommt in leiser Flut,
tropft aus des Morgens Vlies, wenn Grillen singen.
Die Mitternacht ist voller Schimmer, Mittag Purpurglut,
im Abend schwirren Finkenschwingen.

Ich breche auf und geh, hör schon bei Nacht und Tag
der Wellen sanftes Lied das Schilf betören.
Steh ich am Straßenrand, auf grauem Teerbelag,
im Herz des Herzens kann ichʼs hören.
